Adam House

In Chamber Street at Adam House there are lots of really fun, hands-on activities to try led by the lovely team from Scifun. You can try to generate enough electricity to power your play station, try to time balls running through different kinds of liquids, solve puzzles, see all sorts of optical illusions and much, much more. There are also lots of free shows to make you go wow, like The Chemistry Show and The Senses Show. So get along there and have some fun.

Dr Bunhead

Yesterday I went to see Dr Bunhead's new show You tube True or False at the George Square Theatre. During the show you had to decide which science experiments from the internet were true or false. I liked the LED sausage the best. There was also lots of loud explosions and he was very funny as usual.

The City Arts Centre

Fun at the City Arts Centre
On Monday I went with my friend Kate to the Wonderama at the City Arts Centre. You pay to go in for the day and there are lots of fun science activities and shows.

My highlight was programming lego robots. The robots were dressed up like Indiana Jones and you had 3 tasks to complete. Task 1 was to get the gold, you had to programme the robot to go to a pod and crack its whip so the pod would open and you could get the gold. Task 2 was to make the temple gods go to sleep by firing balls at them. Task 3 was to replace the gold to make the temple gods happy. It was fun and exciting because you got to make the robots move and you had to figure things out.

Another thing I enjoyed was the Sound Show. The show told you all about how sound works. I liked the part where the girl presenter played a straw whistle and as the man cut it shorter the note got higher pitched. I got to come on the stage to be an air molecule then water molecule and then solid molecule to show how sound travels. The show was very funny.

Erin at the Science Festival

Meeting Asimo
On Saturday 4th my friend Kate and I went to see Asimo at the McEwan Hall. Asimo is a famous robot built by Honda. I got to see him walk, talk, play football, run, climb upstairs and serve drinks. A team of scientists had Honda have had to work for many years to work out how to make a robot that can do all of these things. Walking is a very difficult thing to get a robot to do. There was also a mini robot that could do press ups and a robot arm that played Connect 4.
